Professionally serviced and cine-modified by TerPhoto, this vintage Carenar HC 135mm F2.8 has been transformed from a classic manual-focus full-frame telephoto into a distinctive filmmaking lens for Canon EF-mount cameras and cinema rigs. The original spherical optical system has been retained, while the lens has been modified to produce a stylized anamorphic-inspired cinematic character. Its optical modification creates orange oval bokeh in defocused highlights together with attractive orange flare effects, giving footage a wider, more dramatic visual personality without using a true anamorphic squeeze element. Because this remains a spherical lens, no de-squeezing is required in post-production. For an anamorphic-style presentation, simply compose or crop your finished footage to approximately 2.35:1 and add cinematic letterboxing if desired. This makes the lens considerably easier to use than a traditional anamorphic setup while still delivering a strong stylized look.

The aperture mechanism has been de-clicked, allowing smooth, stepless exposure changes during recording. Two cine follow-focus gears are installed: one for precise manual focusing and the second for controlled aperture adjustment. The lens has been fully cleaned, mechanically adjusted and re-lubricated. It has also been adapted and calibrated for Canon EF mount.
