This is a vintage Carl Zeiss Sonnar 85mm F2.8 prime lens professionally modified by TerPhoto for cinematography and professional video capturing work. It is adapted and adjusted for Canon EF mount and covers a full frame sensor, making it a practical portrait and short-telephoto option for Canon EF cinema cameras, DSLR bodies, and many mirrorless cinema setups when used with an EF-compatible adapter.

The lens has been fully cleaned, adjusted, aligned and re-lubricated. The aperture has been de-clicked for smooth iris pulls during video recording, and the lens is fitted with 2x follow focus gears for precise focusing and aperture control. Glass is in good vintage condition overall, cleaned and aligned, with very minor wear on the glass that is typical for older lenses and should not affect the final image in normal use. Important note: the rear lens has some unusual / weird spots. In our tests these spots did not affect the final image, and the last 2 photos in this listing show test results at F2.8 and F22. However, we cannot guarantee that the same result will happen in every shooting condition, lighting angle, aperture setting, camera, or sensor combination. Because of this rear-glass issue, this lens is offered AS IS, without returns or refunds. Please review all photos carefully before purchase.

The lens body shows minor cosmetic wear from age and previous use, including normal marks on the barrel, mount area, and cine gears. These signs of use do not affect operation. Focus and aperture movement are smooth and ready for manual cine-style work.
