Carl Zeiss Tele-Tessar 135mm F4 Cine Mod Telephoto Prime For Filmmakers | Canon!

🎬 Carl Zeiss Tele-Tessar 135mm F4 Cine Mod – Canon EF Full-Frame Telephoto Prime

A professionally prepared Carl Zeiss Tele-Tessar 135mm F4 vintage prime lens, converted and optimized by TerPhoto for cinematography, filmmaking and professional video production. This lens combines classic Zeiss telephoto rendering with practical cinema-oriented modifications, making it suitable for narrative filmmaking, interviews, portraits, music videos, commercials and creative full-frame video work.

The lens has been fully cleaned, mechanically adjusted and re-lubricated. It has also been professionally adapted and adjusted for Canon EF mount use. The original aperture mechanism has been de-clicked, allowing smooth and continuous iris changes during filming rather than stepped photographic aperture adjustments.

Two cine-style follow-focus gears are installed: one for precise manual focusing and one for aperture control. This makes the lens much easier to integrate into a cinema rig with a follow-focus system, wireless lens-control motor or other 0.8-style cine accessories.

The optics are in good vintage condition. As expected from an original vintage lens, the glass may show very minor age-related or cleaning wear, but these small cosmetic imperfections do not affect normal image production. The barrel also shows light vintage cosmetic wear consistent with age and previous use. Please examine the supplied photographs for the exact cosmetic condition.

The lens covers a 35mm full-frame image area, giving the classic 135mm field of view when used on full-frame Canon EF cameras or compatible cinema bodies. On smaller sensors, it provides an even tighter telephoto perspective.

This TerPhoto cine modification retains that original vintage Zeiss optical character while transforming the lens into a much more practical tool for contemporary filmmaking. The original photographic mount has been replaced/adapted for Canon EF, while the focusing and aperture mechanisms have been serviced for reliable manual operation.

The 135mm focal length is especially useful when a filmmaker wants strong subject isolation and compressed perspective. It works well for close portrait framing, interviews, detail shots, exterior narrative scenes, stage work, product details and stylized telephoto compositions. Unlike a modern electronically controlled lens, this is a fully manual cinema-style lens, giving the operator direct mechanical control over both focus and aperture.

🎬 Why Choose This Lens?

The Carl Zeiss Tele-Tessar 135mm F4 is a strong option for filmmakers who want genuine vintage Zeiss glass rather than a modern lens designed to imitate a vintage look. Its 135mm focal length delivers strong telephoto compression and controlled background separation, while the full-frame image circle makes it useful on modern cinema and DSLR systems. The TerPhoto conversion adds the features that matter on set: a Canon EF adaptation, smooth de-clicked aperture, serviced mechanics and separate focus and iris gears. The result is a characterful vintage prime that can be integrated into a professional manual-focus cinema workflow.
