This is a classic Japanese manual-focus 50mm lens adapted and adjusted for Sony E-mount full-frame and APS-C mirrorless cameras. The lens has been fully cleaned, mechanically adjusted and re-lubricated. The original aperture mechanism has been de-clicked, allowing smooth and continuous iris adjustments while filming. 0.8 style follow-focus gear is fitted to the focusing ring for more precise focus pulls with cinema follow-focus systems.

This version also features a neutral oval bokeh modification designed to reproduce part of the visual character associated with anamorphic cinematography. Out-of-focus highlights become oval rather than conventionally round, helping create a distinctive widescreen, cinematic atmosphere. This remains a spherical photographic lens, so there is no anamorphic image squeeze and no de-squeezing required in post-production. For a classic widescreen presentation, 2.35:1 framing or black bars can simply be added during editing.

The 50mm focal length covers a full-frame sensor, giving a natural standard-to-portrait perspective on Sony full-frame cameras. Optically, the glass is in good vintage condition. There is very minor age-related wear on the glass, typical for vintage optics, which does not affect the final image in normal use.
