This offer is for a Contax/Kiev RF to M39/LTM focusing lens adapter made for using classic Contax RF, Kiev RF, and selected Nikon RF lenses on modern mirrorless digital cameras. The adapter includes a focusing part and is designed to focus through the full focusing range with compatible lenses. It also includes a special blocking mechanism, which helps prevent the adapter from unscrewing into two separate parts during use.

The adapter has both internal and external Contax/Kiev RF bayonet support, making it suitable for many popular vintage rangefinder lenses, including Jupiter-3 50mm F1.5, Jupiter-8 50mm F2, Jupiter-9 85mm F2, Jupiter-11 135mm F4, Jupiter-12 35mm F2.8, Helios-103 53mm F1.8, and Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar series lenses. It may also work with some Nikon RF lenses, but not all Nikon RF lenses are guaranteed to fit.

This adapter is intended for adapting vintage rangefinder lenses to modern mirrorless cameras. It does not have a rangefinder coupling mechanism, so it is not intended for use on vintage rangefinder film cameras. To use it on a mirrorless camera, you will need an additional M39/LTM to mirrorless camera adapter, such as M39 to Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF, Micro Four Thirds, Fujifilm X, Samsung NX, Nikon 1, or another matching mirrorless mount adapter.

The adapter itself contains no glass. The included Helios-103 53mm F1.8 and Jupiter-8M 50mm F2 lenses are included as bonus gift lenses only and are offered AS IS, untested. Their optical and mechanical condition is not guaranteed.

Historically, the Contax/Kiev RF mount is connected to the classic Zeiss Ikon Contax rangefinder system from the 1930s and later Soviet Kiev rangefinder cameras. The Jupiter-8M belongs to the Soviet Jupiter/Sonnar-type 50mm F2 lens family, based on the famous Zeiss Sonnar optical concept. The Helios-103 53mm F1.8 is a later Soviet Arsenal/Kiev standard rangefinder lens from the late film era, often associated with Kiev RF cameras. This adapter allows these classic 35mm full-frame rangefinder lenses to be used creatively on modern digital mirrorless systems.

All Contax and Kiev RF lenses were designed for 35mm full-frame coverage. However, physical clearance can vary by lens and camera body. On cropped mirrorless cameras, some lenses may not fit because of rear element or rear barrel depth. For example, Jupiter-12 has a very deep rear section and may not fit some compact APS-C bodies such as Sony NEX-5, while full-frame Sony bodies generally provide more usable clearance.
