This offer is for a Contax/Kiev RF to M39/LTM focusing lens adapter with a bonus lens – Jupiter-8M 50mm F2 Contax/Kiev RF, included as a gift. The adapter is made for photographers, videographers, collectors, and vintage lens users who want to mount classic Contax/Kiev rangefinder lenses on modern mirrorless digital cameras through an additional M39-to-mirrorless adapter.

The adapter includes both internal and external Contax/Kiev RF mounts, allowing use with many classic rangefinder lenses such as Jupiter-3 50mm F1.5, Jupiter-8 50mm F2, Jupiter-8M 50mm F2, Jupiter-9 85mm F2, Jupiter-11 135mm F4, Jupiter-12 35mm F2.8, Helios-103 53mm F1.8, Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar-series lenses, and other compatible Contax/Kiev RF optics. It may also work with some Nikon RF lenses, but Nikon RF compatibility is not guaranteed for every lens.

This adapter was manufactured in our workshop and includes a blocking pin, which prevents the adapter from accidentally unscrewing into two separate parts during handling. The focusing part works through the full focusing range, making it suitable for adapting vintage rangefinder lenses to mirrorless cameras for digital photography, video capture, testing, collecting, and creative lens experimentation.

Important: this adapter does not have a rangefinder coupling mechanism. It is not intended for use on vintage rangefinder cameras for coupled focusing. It is intended for modern mirrorless digital cameras only. To use it on a mirrorless camera, you will need an additional M39/LTM to mirrorless camera adapter, such as M39 to Sony E-mount, Nikon Z, Canon RF, Micro Four Thirds, Fujifilm X, Samsung NX, Nikon 1, or another suitable mirrorless mount adapter.

The adapter itself contains no optical glass, so there are no adapter optics to affect the final image. Classic Contax and Kiev RF lenses were originally designed for 35mm film coverage and are suitable for full-frame use when the lens and camera combination physically fits. On some crop-sensor cameras, certain lenses may not fit because of rear-element depth or camera body clearance. For example, Jupiter-12 has a very deep rear part and may not fit some Sony NEX bodies, while full-frame Sony mirrorless cameras usually provide better clearance.

The included Jupiter-8M 50mm F2 lens is offered AS IS, untested, and as a bonus gift only. Optical condition and mechanical accuracy of the gift lens are not guaranteed. The lens shows visible vintage cosmetic wear, scratches, marks, oxidation/patina, and age-related signs of use, as shown in the photos. Please consider the Jupiter-8M as a collectible or repair/testing lens included with the adapter, not as the main guaranteed working item.

The Jupiter-8M is part of the well-known Soviet Jupiter rangefinder lens family, a Sonnar-based 50mm F2 design produced for Kiev/Contax RF cameras. These lenses are popular today for vintage rendering, classic lower-contrast character, smooth manual operation when properly serviced, and their historical connection to post-war Soviet rangefinder camera production.
