A distinctive vintage E. Ludwig Meritar 50mm F2.9 V manual-focus prime, professionally serviced and adapted for Micro Four Thirds / M4/3 / MFT cameras.

This TerPhoto conversion is based on the the Meritar 50mm F2.9, with adaptation installed and adjusted for practical use on modern mirrorless and cinema cameras. The lens has been fully cleaned, adjusted and re-lubricated, giving this classic optical design a new working life for photography, cinematography and creative video production.

The glass is in good vintage condition. There is only very minor age-related wear on the optical surfaces, which does not affect the final image in normal use. The Meritar is one of the best-known lenses produced by Ernst Ludwig near Dresden, Germany. The 50mm F2.9 was introduced around the beginning of the 1950s and remained in production through much of the 1950s and 1960s. Its optical construction is the classic Cooke Triplet formula with three elements in three groups. The red V marking on the front ring means the coated version of the lens.
