This is a professionally serviced and cine-modified Hanimex MC Automatic 135mm F2.8 vintage telephoto lens, prepared by TerPhoto for cinematography, filmmaking and professional video work. The lens has been adapted and adjusted for Sony E-mount cameras and covers a full-frame sensor, while also working perfectly as a manual-focus telephoto on APS-C Sony E bodies. The original aperture mechanism has been de-clicked, allowing smooth, stepless exposure changes while recording video. A cine follow-focus gear is installed on the focusing ring for controlled and precise manual focus pulls with a follow-focus system. The lens is also supplied with an 80mm OD cine lens hood, giving it a more production-friendly configuration for professional video rigs.

The optical modification is designed to create vivid red oval bokeh and distinctive red flare, giving footage a dramatic anamorphic-inspired character. This is especially effective with practical lights, reflections, LEDs, street lights and other bright highlights in or near the frame.

Importantly, this remains a spherical modified lens rather than a true anamorphic taking lens. There is therefore no de-squeezing required in editing or monitoring. Shoot normally and simply add 2.35:1 aspect-ratio black bars or a cinematic widescreen crop in post-production for a convincing anamorphic-style presentation.

The glass is in good vintage condition. There is very minor age-related wear / cleaning wear on the optical surfaces, typical for a vintage lens of this period, and it is not expected to affect the final image during normal use. The exterior has light cosmetic wear consistent with age and use. Please review the photographs for the exact cosmetic condition.

Before conversion, the lens was fully cleaned, mechanically adjusted and re-lubricated. It was then adapted and calibrated for Sony E-mount operation, making it ready for modern digital cinematography while retaining the character of the original vintage optics. At 135mm, this lens is particularly useful for cinematic portraits, close-ups, interviews, compressed landscapes, detail shots, music videos, fashion films and narrative scenes where strong subject separation is desired.
