A character-rich vintage Hanimex MC Automatic 28mm F2.8 wide-angle prime, professionally prepared and modified by TerPhoto for cinematography, filmmaking and professional video work. Originally built for the Pentax K / PK system, this example has been adapted and precisely adjusted for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. The lens provides full-frame sensor coverage, making its classic 28mm field of view available on Sony full-frame bodies such as the Alpha and FX series. It can also be used on APS-C Sony E-mount cameras, where it provides a tighter field of view.

For practical cinema use, the aperture has been de-clicked, allowing smooth, continuous iris adjustments rather than stepped photographic aperture changes. Two cine-style follow-focus gears are installed: one on the focusing ring for accurate focus pulls and one on the aperture ring for controlled iris adjustments. This makes the lens considerably easier to integrate into a follow-focus, wireless motor or compact cinema rig. The lens has been fully cleaned, adjusted and re-lubricated. The mechanics have been prepared for reliable manual operation, and the lens has been adapted and adjusted for Sony E-mount use. The glass is in good vintage condition. There is very minor age-related wear on the glass, typical of an optical item of this period. These minor signs do not affect the final image in normal shooting conditions. The exterior is also in good vintage condition, with normal signs of previous use visible in the photographs. An 80mm OD cine-style lens hood is included, helping create a more production-friendly front profile while providing additional shielding from stray light. Front and rear caps are also supplied.
