Give your Sony E-mount camera the organic rendering and mechanical feel of real vintage glass with this professionally prepared Hanimex MC Automatic 28mm F2.8 wide-angle prime. Originally produced for 35mm SLR photography, this Japanese vintage lens has been converted and serviced by TerPhoto for cinematography, filmmaking and professional video capture.

The original lens is the Fujica X/AX-mount version, now adapted and carefully adjusted for Sony E-mount cameras. It provides full-frame sensor coverage, making it suitable for Sony Alpha and Cinema Line bodies including the A7 series, A9, A1, FX3 and FX6, while also working on APS-C E-mount cameras such as the FX30 and A6000-series.

For cinema use, the aperture mechanism has been professionally de-clicked, allowing smooth and continuous iris changes rather than the stepped aperture movement of the original still-photography lens. Two cine-style follow-focus gears are installed: one on the focusing ring and one on the aperture ring. This allows precise control from a standard follow-focus system and makes the lens much easier to integrate into a professional camera rig.

The lens has been fully cleaned, mechanically adjusted and re-lubricated. Focus and aperture operation have been prepared for practical video work, and the Sony E adaptation has been checked and adjusted.

The glass is in good vintage condition. There is very minor age-related wear on the glass, typical for an original vintage optic of this period. These small signs of age do not affect normal image capture. The exterior also shows light cosmetic wear and small finish marks consistent with previous use, as visible in the photographs.
