A unique vintage Helios Tele-Auto 200mm F4 telephoto lens, professionally modified by TerPhoto for cinematography, filmmaking and professional video production. This cine-modded 200mm combines the compression and shallow-depth-of-field possibilities of a vintage telephoto with a specially modified optical effect designed to produce blue oval bokeh and beautiful blue flare characteristics inspired by classic anamorphic cinematography.

Unlike a true anamorphic taking lens, this is a spherical lens with an anamorphic-style modification, so footage does not require de-squeezing. For a widescreen cinematic presentation, simply compose and crop/add approximately 2.35:1 aspect-ratio bars in post-production. The result is an easy-to-use vintage telephoto capable of producing distinctive stylized highlights, oval-shaped out-of-focus areas and blue flare effects.

The aperture has been de-clicked, allowing smooth, continuous iris adjustment during filming instead of the stepped operation found on a conventional still-photography lens. Two cine-style follow-focus gears are installed, providing geared control of both focus and aperture for compatibility with standard follow-focus equipment.

The lens has been fully cleaned, adjusted and re-lubricated. It has also been professionally adapted and adjusted for Canon EF mount use. The optical design provides full-frame sensor coverage, making this an interesting character lens for full-frame cinema and mirrorless cameras when used with the appropriate camera/mount configuration.

The glass is in good vintage condition. Very minor age-related wear is present on the optical surfaces, typical for a vintage lens of this period. This minor wear does not affect the final image in normal shooting conditions. The exterior is also in good vintage condition with normal signs of previous use.
