This TerPhoto cine-modified JCPenney Multi-Coated 28mm F2.8 is a compact vintage wide-angle prime rebuilt for cinematography, professional video production, and creative hybrid shooting. The lens has been modified to create a stylized anamorphic-inspired image while remaining a spherical lens, so no de-squeezing is required in post-production. It produces blue oval bokeh and attractive blue horizontal flare character, giving your footage a cinematic widescreen look. For the strongest anamorphic-style presentation, simply add 1:2.35 black bars in editing.

This lens is based on a Japanese-made JCPenney Multi-Coated 28mm F2.8 manual-focus SLR lens, originally produced during the classic 1970s–1980s era of compact vintage optics. JCPenney-branded lenses were sold for popular 35mm film camera systems and are appreciated today for their simple mechanical design, lightweight construction, multi-coated glass, and practical vintage rendering. This copy has been professionally adapted and adjusted for Fujifilm X / FX mirrorless cameras.

The lens covers full-frame sensors, but this offer is adapted for Fujifilm X mount. On Fujifilm APS-C cameras, it gives a useful moderate wide/normal field of view, excellent for street-style video, travel filmmaking, music videos, handheld work, interior shots, documentary scenes, and cinematic establishing shots. The F2.8 aperture keeps the lens compact while still allowing strong vintage separation, flare, and bokeh effects when used creatively.

The aperture has been de-clicked for smooth exposure transitions during video recording. Two 0.8-pitch follow focus gears are installed for precise focusing and aperture control, making the lens easy to integrate into a cinema rig with a follow focus, wireless motor, matte box, or professional camera cage setup. The lens has also been fully cleaned, adjusted, aligned, re-lubricated, adapted, and checked for Fujifilm X / FX use.

Glass is in good vintage condition. The optics have been cleaned and aligned, with only very minor wear on the glass, typical for vintage lenses. This will not affect the final image in normal shooting conditions. The body shows normal cosmetic signs of vintage use, including minor wear, but all mechanical functions operate properly. Focus movement is smooth, aperture control is de-clicked, and the lens is ready for creative cinema use.
