This Konica Hexanon AR 135mm F3.5 has been professionally modified by TerPhoto for cinematography, filmmaking, music videos, interviews, narrative work, and professional video capturing. It is based on the classic Konica Hexanon AR 135mm F3.5 telephoto prime lens, originally made in Japan for the Konica AR 35mm SLR system. This later compact version of the Hexanon 135mm F3.5 was produced in the late 1970s through the 1980s and is known for its sharp telephoto rendering, compact build, classic Japanese optical character, and smooth vintage color response.

The lens has been adapted and adjusted for Sony E-mount and covers a full frame sensor, making it suitable for Sony Alpha full-frame cameras, Sony FX-series cinema cameras, and Super 35 / APS-C Sony E-mount bodies. The lens has been fully cleaned, adjusted, and re-lubricated for smooth manual operation.

This cine modification includes a de-clicked aperture for smooth exposure transitions during video work and a 0.8-pitch follow focus gear on the focusing ring for precise focusing control with a follow focus system. The lens is also modified to create neutral oval bokeh, giving this spherical vintage lens an anamorphic-inspired cinematic look without the need for de-squeezing. For a classic widescreen cinema presentation, simply add 1:2.35 aspect ratio black bars in post-production.

The glass is in pretty good vintage condition. There is very minor wear on the glass, which is typical for vintage lenses and will not affect the final image. The body shows normal vintage cosmetic wear from age and use, but this does not affect performance. Focus rotation is smooth, the aperture is de-clicked and working properly, and the lens is ready for professional video use.
