Offered here is a very uncommon LOMO MC Volna 50mm F1.8 vintage Soviet prime lens, professionally modified for cinematography and modern video production. This particular lens has been adapted and precisely adjusted for Sony E-mount, covers a full-frame 24x36mm sensor, and combines genuine vintage LOMO rendering with practical cine-style controls for use on current digital cinema and mirrorless cameras.

The aperture has been professionally de-clicked, providing smooth and continuous iris adjustment instead of the original photographic click stops. Two cine follow-focus gears have been installed: one on the focus ring for controlled focus pulls and a second on the aperture ring for repeatable iris operation. This makes the lens considerably more practical on a camera rig, follow-focus system, shoulder setup or cinema cage than an untouched vintage photographic version.

The lens has been fully cleaned, adjusted and re-lubricated. Focus and aperture mechanisms have been serviced, and the lens has been adapted and calibrated for Sony E-mount use. Original MC Volna 1.8/50 was manufactured by LOMO – the Leningrad Optical-Mechanical Association, and was created as the standard normal lens for the Soviet Almaz-103 professional 35mm SLR system. The original lens used a K-type bayonet and covered the complete 24x36mm film frame. The Almaz system itself was manufactured in unusually small quantities compared with mass-produced Soviet cameras, with approximately 9,508 Almaz-103 bodies reported, which helps explain why genuine MC Volna 50mm F1.8 examples are much less common today than lenses such as the Helios-44.
