A character-rich vintage wide-angle lens professionally modified by TerPhoto for cinematography, filmmaking and professional video production. This Miranda MC Macro 28mm F2.8 combines classic Japanese vintage optics with a practical modern cine conversion for Sony E-mount cameras.

The optical modification creates distinctive orange oval anamorphic-style bokeh and warm orange flare characteristics, giving footage a stylized cinematic personality while retaining the simplicity of a spherical lens. Unlike a true anamorphic optical system, there is no image de-squeezing required. For an anamorphic-inspired presentation, simply crop or add 2.35:1 cinematic bars during post-production.

The original aperture mechanism has been de-clicked, providing smooth, continuous iris adjustment while recording. Two geared rings provide direct compatibility with standard cine follow-focus equipment: one for precise manual focusing and one for aperture control.

The lens has been fully cleaned, adjusted and re-lubricated, then adapted and calibrated for Sony E-mount use. It covers a full-frame sensor, making it suitable for full-frame Sony Alpha and Sony Cinema Line bodies as well as APS-C E-mount cameras.

The glass is in good vintage condition. There are very minor age-related signs of wear on the glass, typical for an original vintage optic of this period. These minor imperfections do not affect the final image. The lens body also shows normal vintage cosmetic signs consistent with its age. Please inspect the supplied photographs for the exact cosmetic condition of this individual lens.

The modification retains the vintage rendering that makes older manual lenses attractive for modern digital cinematography while adding practical production features such as geared focus and aperture rings, a de-clicked iris, Sony E adaptation and an 80mm OD cine-style hood.
