The conversion is based on a 1980s-era Japanese Mitsuki MC 135mm F2.8 manual-focus telephoto, now professionally adapted and adjusted for Fujifilm X mount. Mitsuki lenses belong to the generation of Japanese manual-focus optics that were offered for multiple popular 35mm SLR systems during this period.

The aperture has been de-clicked, allowing smooth, continuous iris adjustment during video recording instead of the traditional stepped photographic aperture movement. A 0.8-pitch style follow-focus gear is installed on the focusing ring, allowing more controlled and repeatable focus pulls when working with a follow-focus system. This lens has also received a creative spherical cine modification designed to produce neutral oval bokeh and attractive neutral flare characteristics. The result gives footage an anamorphic-inspired visual character while retaining the simplicity of a normal spherical lens. There is no anamorphic compression and no de-squeezing is required.
