🎬 Prinz Galaxy 200mm F4.5 Cine Mod – ARRI PL | Vintage Full-Frame Telephoto

A rare Prinz Galaxy 200mm F4.5 vintage telephoto prime, professionally serviced and converted by TerPhoto into a practical cine-mod lens for cinematography, filmmaking and professional video production. This conversion combines the distinctive rendering of vintage Japanese photographic glass with production-friendly ARRI PL mounting, geared focus and aperture controls, a de-clicked iris and an 80mm OD cine front.

The lens has been fully cleaned, adjusted and re-lubricated. The aperture has been de-clicked, allowing smooth continuous iris adjustment during filming. Two follow-focus gears are installed: one for precise manual/remote focusing and a second for aperture control. The lens has also been adapted and individually adjusted for ARRI PL mount use.

The optics are in very good condition and are free from fungus, scratches and fog. The photographs show normal cosmetic signs of age and use on the vintage barrel, including small marks and finish wear. These cosmetic signs do not affect operation. The lens covers a full-frame sensor, making its 200mm focal length especially useful for compressed portraits, close-ups, detail shots, landscapes, establishing shots and distant subjects. On cinema cameras with smaller sensors it provides an even tighter telephoto field of view.

This lens originates from the Prinz Galaxy family of Japanese-made photographic lenses associated with the UK market in the 1970s–1980s. Prinz Galaxy was a retail/distributor brand and these lenses were notably sold through Dixons in Britain. Historical sources associate at least some Prinz Galaxy lenses with Japanese manufacturer Kawakami Seiki Seisakusho, while other manufacturers may also have supplied the range.
