TerPhoto presents a professionally modified Ricoh Rikenon 50mm F2 vintage prime lens, converted for cinematography and professional video production with a Canon EF mount adaptation, de-clicked aperture and follow-focus gear. This lens has been modified to produce a distinctive neutral oval bokeh, giving out-of-focus highlights an anamorphic-inspired shape while retaining the simplicity of a spherical photographic lens. It does not optically squeeze the image, so no anamorphic de-squeezing is required in post-production. For a classic widescreen presentation, simply crop or add approximately 2.35:1 cinematic framing during editing.

Aperture has been de-clicked, allowing smooth, continuous exposure adjustments while recording video instead of the stepped movement found on a standard photography lens. A cine-style follow focus gear is installed on the focusing ring, making the lens suitable for follow-focus systems, camera rigs, shoulder rigs and professional video setups. The lens has been fully cleaned, adjusted and re-lubricated before conversion. The focusing mechanism has been serviced for smooth manual operation, and the lens has been adapted and adjusted for the Canon EF flange system.

Glass is in good vintage condition and is free of fungus, scratches and fog. As expected from a vintage lens, the exterior may show minor signs of previous use, but these cosmetic marks do not affect normal operation or image quality.

The lens covers a full-frame 35mm image area, making the 50mm focal length especially useful as a natural-perspective standard lens on full-frame cameras. On Super 35 and APS-C sensors it becomes a tighter portrait-oriented focal length.
