This vintage Japanese 200mm prime has been transformed into a practical filmmaking lens while retaining the optical personality of the original glass. The internal cinematic modification produces orange oval anamorphic-style bokeh and beautiful orange flares, creating a stylized widescreen aesthetic from a spherical lens. Because this is a spherical optical system, no anamorphic de-squeezing is required. For an anamorphic-inspired presentation, simply add 2.35:1 aspect-ratio black bars in post-production.

The aperture has been de-clicked, allowing smooth, continuous iris adjustments during filming instead of the stepped movement found on the original photographic lens. Two cine follow-focus gears are installed: one for precise manual focusing and one for aperture control. This makes the lens much easier to integrate into a follow-focus-based cinema rig.

The lens has been fully cleaned, mechanically adjusted and re-lubricated. It has also been adapted and carefully adjusted for Canon EF mount use.
