A unique TerPhoto cinema-modified Vivitar Wide-Angle MC 28mm F2.8 designed for filmmakers, cinematographers, music-video creators and photographers who want a distinctive vintage image with an anamorphic-inspired character. This lens has been modified to produce orange oval bokeh and expressive orange flares, giving footage a stylized anamorphic-like appearance while retaining a normal spherical image. There is no anamorphic squeeze, so no de-squeezing is required in post-production. For a classic widescreen presentation, simply crop or add approximately 2.35:1 cinematic bars during editing.

The aperture has been professionally de-clicked, allowing smooth, continuous iris changes during recording. Two cine-style follow-focus gears are installed – one on the focusing ring and one on the aperture ring, making the lens practical with follow-focus systems, lens motors and professional cinema rigs. Serial number 28228390 begins with Vivitar manufacturer code 28, which is associated with Komine, one of the better-known Japanese manufacturers contracted to produce Vivitar optics. Before modification, the lens was fully cleaned, adjusted and re-lubricated.

Mechanical operation has been prepared specifically for cinematography and professional video work. The glass is in good vintage condition. There is very minor age-related wear on the optical surfaces, typical for a lens of this period. These minor marks are not expected to affect the final image. The lens body also shows normal light cosmetic signs of vintage use while remaining fully suitable for professional operation.
